Fighting The System

As a citizen, what chance do you have when the law is broken, the forces of law and order dismiss you, and you are ignored by the very people whose job it is to protect our rights.
Well I and two other citizens are faced with just such a predicament.
When Stoke-on-Trent City Council held its annual Audit of accounts, we applied to inspect the accounts and be supplied with information of certain areas we were interested in.
Of the 350,000 documents, NONE were available.
After phoning, and giving the sections we wanted to be supplied to us, once again NONE were sent.
We received a letter telling us that we were not going to receive this information.
After checking the Law of the land we found The City Council were in breach of the law, so we then went to Staffordshire Police Headquarters to file charges.
These allegations were then passed on to the Stoke branch of the Police, and then to a serving officer in working in unison with the City Council, who then quietly dropped it.
We then went to the Sentinel to bring our case to the attention of the public, we were told "this is front page headlines".
Once again things went quiet.
Just who is putting all this pressure on?
It appears "certain" members of the City Council are getting nervous as "certain" members of the City Council have approached two Councillors, asking them to intercede and get us to drop the case.
My question is what is in the Audit report that warrants this secrecy, and why are they so afraid that we question them, that they will not answer.
The City Council committee meets to sign these accounts off Tuesday at ten-o-clock, there will be opposition as at least two members who have seen our evidence that will now refuse to sign off the accounts.
This Council has broken the law strait and simple, and should be made to account for their actions, and the forces of law and order need to not be seen as allowing the law to be broken with impunity by the City Council.
If anyone in the Police, and City Council thinks this is going to go away, then I'm afraid they are sadly mistaken, we will find out the truth.
I have not named names as I believe this will not be helpfull at the present time, but will name them at a later date, if this case is not brought to a head.
